Rune Fencer Illyia is a premium adventure game for PC developed by Nootbox Games. It is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer featuring beautiful pixel art and is set in a fantasy world. It follows the journey of a young girl searching for her lost twin sister amidst the dark chaos that has enveloped the land.

Swordplay and rune magic
In Rune Fencer Illyia, you play as the titular Illyia of Moonstone, who mysteriously awakens in a strange land after the ship she was riding on crashlands. Lost and alone in an unknown land, you must face the dangers that lie ahead while you look for your twin sister, who got lost during the accident and find a way back home.
Armed with a magical conjured sword, slash through enemies with speed and precision while dodging incoming attacks as you explore over 20 distinct locations. Steal runes from enemies to unleash runic magic, and collect Memory Stones that unlock new abilities to create different character builds with varying play styles. You can also acquire Sigils that grant special abilities like breathing underwater and stopping time momentarily.
The game also features a deep crafting system that lets you collect various ingredients and use recipes to create potions and cook food for your journey. As of this writing, Rune Fencer Illyia is not yet available and has a vague 2025 release window, so you will have to wait for a while longer before you get to check it out and play.
